"The main role of this high mobility vehicle is to carry troops and cargo. It can also carry various bodies and specialized equipment. The KamAZ-6560M can be customized as fuel tanker, recovery vehicle, prime mover, palletized load carrying system, mobile crane, multiple launch rocket system, mobile howitzer, mobile crane and can suit many other roles. Vehicle can also tow trailers or artillery pieces with a maximum weight of 15 t. Armored cab is armored at the Russian GOST 6a level (STANAG 4569 Level 3). The cabin protects from B-32 7.62x54mm armor-piercing bullet fired from Dragunov SVD sniper rifle at 25 m distance. It is likely that the cab can be fitted with add-on composite armor. The cab was also designed to withstand mine blasts. Cab of the vehicle withstands mine blasts equivalent to 6 kg of TNT. An NBC filtration system for the cab is proposed as an option."
