There are 2 ferries crossing the river from Botswana to Zambia (1 run by each country). Here a truck gets stuck getting off the Zambia ferry. An easy solution would have been for the ferry to pull back 6 inches allowing the back wheels of the trucks to touch ground. The ferry operator refused to budge. The alternative was to bring in another truck and attempt to pull the truck off. For the first attempt, they used cargo straps... which failed miserably. Attempt two, replaced the straps with chains. The chain snapped 3 seconds into the pulling. As we reached the Zambia border, attempt three (2nd attempt with the chain, double looped most likely) was successful and the truck was off. So a 2 minute fix ended up taking about 30 minutes.
