Osongco Syndicate
The Osongco Syndicate is a large-scale criminal network based on the island of Mindoro (South Torbia). The Syndicate is led by Zikri Osongco. Zikri Osongco is 42 year-old Muslim from Bongabong who has lived on Mindaro all his life. Growing up poor and without a father, Osongco got involved in crime early on, robbing non-Muslims beginning in his teens. Even though he dropped out of school at an early age, Osongco is intelligent and street savvy. Naturally charismatic, he began to attract the attentions of other unemployed teenagers, and soon began organizing them. Other Muslims in Mindoro hesitate to serve as witness to any crimes he may have committed, as most of his actions target non-Muslims. Osongco regularly practices zakat: charitable donations to other Muslims in need. As a result, some Mindaro Muslims see Osongco as a modern-day Robin Hood, who takes from the rich and gives to the poor.The Osongco Syndicate is primarily involved in stolen goods and smuggling, but will not hesitate to delve into other areas such as extortion or even bank robbery. They prefer to target non-Muslims. Osongco may sometimes work with the Tantoco Cartel, but is not a member. Tantoco generally leaves Osongco alone, so long as he confines his activities to Mindoro. The Osongco Syndicate is primarily involved in stolen goods and smuggling, but will not hesitate to delve into other areas on the island that can make the organization money such as extortion or even bank robbery, especially those that do not practice the Muslim faith. The Syndicate occasionally works with the Islamic Torbian Army, and will also work with the South Torbian Communist Army if it is profitable and will not harm Muslims.
